Everyone in Alexandria, Pineville and all of Central Louisiana knows Hokus Pokus, and its famous sign at this location at 2130 Lee Street. We've all shopped there for years! Located next door was Abe's Pawn Shop.
Seen in this photograph taken in 2003, its unique, iconic neon sign, with the flying ghost, is known in Alexandria and far beyond!

Hokus Pokus has been a family business for years, owned by Steve Sherman and his wife Lillian Costa Sherman, and their son Gus Olaf. There is also a location of Hokus Pokus in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Country Club Road. Phone 337.474.0447
We understand that the Hokus Pokus sign was the work of Bill Phillips, Sr. of Phillips Sign Company. The company is still operated today, by Bill Phillips, Jr., at 1803 Rapides Avenue in Alexandria.
