It was always a special occasion to eat at Piccadilly Cafeteria at MacArthur Drive Shopping Center, or at Suburban Gardens Restaurant on Jackson Street. We shopped regularly at Walgreen's Drug Store on 3rd Street, John Ward Hardware Store, Sears on Bolton Avenue, the Alexandria Mall, Burger King Restaurant, Caplan's Mens Store, and Weiss & Goldring Department Store.

Signs at these businesses give directions and information, and tell stories about Alexandria, Pineville and all of Central Louisiana.

From Third Street out DeSoto Street and onto Jackson Street Extension. Down Bolton Avenue and along MacArthur Drive, over the bridge to Pineville and Tioga, we see signs of the present, and the past.

Shown here are a few of our favorite signs from Alexandria. We'll be adding more soon.
