The Guaranty Bank Building, at 10 stories, has long been Alexandria's tallest building. And as a child it seemed ever higher than it did when this photo was taken late in 1999. I always enjoyed my time in this grand place, with my father who had his Metropolitan Life Insurance Office here in the 1950s.
